Joyce Uptown Foodshelf Harvest Walk for Hunger is a family-oriented, FREE community fundraising event, open to the public. Join with others from the community for a 5k walk on the Minneapolis Greenway, live music, and family friendly activities! Learn more about the work and mission of Joyce Uptown Foodshelf, and the community we work to support.
JUFS Harvest Walk for Hunger will be held rain or shine. Join partners, faith groups, community members, Foodshelf participants, supporters, and friends of Joyce Uptown Foodshelf to help us reach our fundraising goal of $50,000 to broaden our work in Uptown and surrounding Minneapolis communities.

About Joyce Uptown Foodshelf
Joyce Uptown Foodshelf is a people-centered, no-questions-asked food shelf operating in the heart of Uptown since 1969. In an average month Joyce serves 1,700 people from 450 households with over 55,000 lbs. of food. Since the start of the 2022, we have seen unprecedented growth in the number of people we serve, nearly doubling the amount of food that goes out into our community. Soaring inflation rates have created a much higher demand for access to food in the community and has strained our budget for food purchasing. We have responded to the needs of a growing demographic by leaning in and creating a welcoming space for all, while also trying to manage our own rising food costs.

Choose the "join this event" option and it'll have you create log in. Once you're created a log in it will give you 3 options:
1. Start a fundraiser - This is for an individual who wants to fundraise on their own
2. Join an existing team - this is what people will choose if they want to be on your team
3. Create a team - this is the one you'll want to choose if you want to start a team of fundraisers.
Once you've chosen to create a team, it'll have you come up with a team name and you can set a fundraising goal! On your team page you will also see a "share" button, this is how you can share it on social media and through email to give people the opportunity to donate or to join the team. If someone wants to donate to your team, they can do so on the website above. All they need to do is click the “donate” option, rather than the “join this event” option, and search for your team name or individual name.
If you’d like to donate by check please mail it directly to Joyce Uptown Foodshelf, and please specify that it is a donation for the Harvest Walk for Hunger either on the envelope or on the memo line of the check.
